Today we celebrated Children in Need by celebrating who we are and by appreciating all of the wonderful people in our school. Some children wanted to share some of their talents. We had a great day!
Today as part of Children in Need we showed off our talents. We were all amazed by how talented our class is! Well done Year 3!
This week we have been celebrating Anti-Bullying Week in school. Today we discussed bullying, the effects of this and what we need to do in situations where we or people we know are being bullied. We thought carefully about how kind words can change someone’s day completely and so we made a wall of respect where we were given other members of the class and we wrote all of the nice things about them so that they can always look to see how amazing they are.
This week in year 4 the children presented a very prayerful liturgy. They explained about how God makes everything grow. Together we sang ‘This Little Light of Mine’ and discussed how we all have lovely qualities; given by God. During reflection we passed a heart shaped pebble around the circle and thought about everything we are thankful for.
We ended by singing ‘If I were a butterfly’. This was chosen so we could give thanks to God for making us who we are.
The children’s comments included; ‘I know that God is always with us’.
Thank you Year 4.
Today, our Year 6 class participated in Barnabas Day. We took part in a very special collective worship this morning. Later in the day, during our class session, we focused on the themes of sharing and equality. This was a great opportunity to explore new parables, some of which we even got to act out!
Congratulations to our new head boy, Luca, and our new head girl, Gracie! You will be fantastic representatives for our school and your fellow students! All of our Year 6’s who made speeches today did an absolutely AMAZING job and should be very, very proud of themselves!
Another BIG congratulations to our new House Captains and Vice Captains, who made their speeches during pastoral care. Well done to everybody who took part in today’s celebrations! What a great way to end our week!
Today the children in Year 3 took part in a healthy eating workshop with Warburtons. We learned about the history of the company and reminded ourselves of what we need to have in a balanced and healthy diet. We were then given the opportunity to make our own sandwiches which we thoroughly enjoyed eating as a morning snack! The children then watched a video about how Warburtons make their bread and the jobs that are available there. The children then discovered their role in stopping food waste. We had an amazing session and wish we could do it every morning!
In pastoral care we have been learning all about being different. To explore this further we played games of Guess Who where we explored our differences. We then celebrated our differences by creating profiles of ourselves. We loved playing Guess Who and this really helped our understanding of being different to each other.
