Some of the children volunteered to represent our school at an athletics’ tournament. They worked really hard and showed great attitudes to all of the sporting disciplines. Of course we had fun too! Great work guys!
Our Year 2 children attended the KS1 Multi-skills Festival at Temple Park. They had lots of fun catching, throwing, running and jumping throughout the activities which were led by students from Mortimer School.
Year 1 had a great time today at Temple Park to complete lots of different sporting activities.

Today Year 3 were given the opportunity to take part in a multi skills event at Temple Park. We took part in a range of activities including skipping, basketball, dancing and lots more. We all had a fantastic afternoon practising lots of different skills with the sports leaders from St. Wilfrid’s.
Well done Year 5 for competing in Year 5/6 Tag Rugby competition at Harton Academy. All the children showed great sportsmanship and showcased their rugby skills!
Today, our Year 6 class competed in a hockey tournament against 12 other schools in our area. After a long afternoon of playing many games, our team successfully made it to the finals. Our finishing team were awarded Silver Medals, and we all will receive a certificate for our outstanding effort! Well done Year 6!
Today we had some professional coaching to learn some amazing skipping techniques. We will be practising really hard so that we can do well in the competition, which is in the spring term. We had lots of fun but it was really hard work. Well done Y4!
Yet another big well done to all the children and staff at St Mary’s. We have achieved Gold status for the School Games for the second year running. Let’s go for the hat-trick!
Children in Year 6 compete in South Tyneside’s Quadkids competition at Monkton Stadium. Every child competed in four event and worked as a team to gain as many points as possible. Children competed in the 75 metre sprint, howler throw, standing long jump and the 600 metre run. All the children demonstrated great sportsmanship and enjoyed the competition.
